Lokta Paper

Lokta is an indigenous evergreen shrub of Nepal, of which there are 2 main species known as Daphne Bholua & Daphne Papyracea. Lokta bushes grow abundantly in Nepal’s Himalayan forests between 1600 and 4000 metres. The inner bark of the Lokta is used to make paper and after harvesting, the lokta bush automatically regenerates with no adverse effect to forest ecology.

OM MANI PADME HUM mantra

The mantra OM MANI PADME HUM translates as “You are the Jewel in the Lotus” and summons the deity Chenrezig (also known as Avalokiteshvara), the Buddha of Compassion.
The mantra is recited to purify delusion, especially hatred and ignorance, and to generate compassion.
